Training Locations in USA

FactoryStudio training is normally regularly available in the Chicago area (near Chicago O’Hare airport). On demand, Tatsoft schedules training at its office in Houston, Texas. Training at a customer site is available for groups of 4 or more students, call us to schedule a training session.

FactoryStudio Fundamentals

Course Description:

The FactoryStudio Fundamentals course is designed to present the basic concepts of the platform and provide working knowledge to develop SCADA/HMI applications. It covers the software main modules, tags, alarms, historian, device communication, database connection and displays. Hand-on exercises are provided to allow each student to complete a project at their own pace. 

Who should Attend:

Systems Integrators, end-users, process or automation engineers, who will be developing, specifying and using FactoryStudio applications.

Pre-requisites:

Familiarity with Microsoft-Office style applications, such as Word, Excel or PowerPoint, and working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems. Familiarity with Process Control systems is recommended.

Course Objectives:

Upon completion, the student will have learned about:

  • Engineering and Runtime concepts
  • FactoryStudio Engineering Workspace
  • Introduction to Tags and Templates
  • Creating displays and dynamic objects
  • Using and extending the Symbol Library
  • Devices, communication protocol configuration
  • Mapping tags to read or write from PLCs
  • Defining and visualizing Alarms and Events
  • Connecting to SQL databases
  • Defining Tag data logging and using Trend Charts
  • Basic scripts using VB.NET or C# language

FactoryStudio Advanced

Course Description:

The FactoryStudio Advanced course is a sequel of the Fundamentals course. It provides knowledge of advanced product features, best practices, client-server programming, database connections, DataTable tags, reports and distributed systems architecture review. It includes information on FactoryStudio extensions and namespaces, diagnostics tools for field maintenance and troubleshooting.  

Who should Attend:

Application engineers or integrators involved in creating FactoryStudio applications. Highly recommended if working in large or distributed systems.

Pre-requisites:

Completion of the FactoryStudio Fundamentals course. Familiarity with programming language (VB.NET, VBScript, VBA, C++, C# or PLC structure text programming) and relational databases is helpful, but not required. 

Course Objectives:

Upon completion, the student will have learned about:

  • Advanced Tag types and dynamic arrays.
  • Extending Symbols and WPF controls. 
  • Client and Server domain for tags and scripts. 
  • Use of tables, queries and stored procedure from SQL databases.
  • Trending from historical data or custom data sources. 
  • Using Scripts, Tasks, Expressions and Display Code Behind
  • Graphical displays for .NET, iOS or HTML.
  • Running FactoryStudio on Linux operating systems.
  • FactoryStudio report module and DevExpress integration
  • Leveraging Assets and Categories
  • Using Import, Export and managing components and Plug-ins.
  • Automated project creating from CSV and Tables
  • Configure fault-tolerant hot-standby systems.
  • Prepare FactoryStudio for distributed client access

FrameworX and FactoryStudio Technical Support

All FactorySudio users, and registered System Integrators, have free access to the FactoryStudio knowledge base and community forum questions, hosted at partners.tatsoft.com.

When buying a new perpetual license, if a Support Plan is included in the order, then the Maintenance and Support will be extended to 18 months. Otherwise the new license has 3 months of Standard Technical Support.

Premium Support includes priority email replies ([email protected]), web-meeting and phone support at (713) 535-9060, CST business hours. After-hours support is available 24x7x365 and is on request and will be quoted based on requirements. 

When buying a new Subscription licenses, the subscription license includes the Premium Support Plan.

Tatsoft can also provide Custom Customer Care programs, which can extend the Premium Support to include active remote monitoring of the FactoryStudio servers, system health checks, application specific support, and 24×7 urgent care.
