EdgeConnect

Standalone operation. Unlimited tags. 110+ connectors and SQL built in.

Operations + UNS + AI-Native

Everything for Edge Operations

EdgeConnect is the FrameworX edition for edge data collection: it reads PLCs, sensors and controllers over 110+ native connectors and serves the data through a built-in OPC UA server and MQTT broker with Sparkplug B. Designed for sensors, PLCs, and controllers, EdgeConnect provides low-footprint, high-performance connectivity. It collects, normalizes, and publishes data directly from your machines to your Unified Namespace (UNS) and beyond. With built-in intelligence at the edge, it reduces latency, minimizes middleware, and ensures reliable operations from the start.

From the creators of InduSoft (now AVEVA Edge), with 30+ years industrial DNA. EdgeConnect brings enterprise-grade reliability to edge operations.

  • Deployed at hundreds of Oil & Gas midstream sites for telemetry and compression stations
  • Energy and utilities sites for secure edge data collection
  • Trusted by OEMs embedding edge capabilities into their equipment
  • Running 24/7 in remote, unmanned locations worldwide

Enterprise Power at the Edge

Modern Foundation

Built on 100% managed .NET code, the same industrial-grade foundation as Enterprise. Process data with millisecond precision using the same real-time engine that powers plant-wide SCADA.

Unified by Design

Same designer, same configuration model as Enterprise and MachineHMI. Seamless upgrade path preserves all configuration when scaling up.

Complete from Day One

110+ connectors and the full scripting engine in both tiers: SQL database, MQTT broker and client, OPC UA, .NET and Python scripting. View adds alarms and historian with 35-day retention.

Complete Edge Capabilities

Data Collection & Publishing

  • Connect to PLCs, sensors, and controllers with 110+ connectors
  • Native MQTT broker and client with SparkplugB for UNS publishing
  • OPC UA server and client capabilities
  • Millisecond real-time engine for critical data

Edge Intelligence

  • Normalize and filter data at the source
  • Local scripting with .NET (C#/VB) and Python 3 for edge analytics
  • Lightweight runtime for embedded and industrial PCs
  • Store-and-forward for network interruptions

Modern Integration

  • WebAssembly runtime for universal visualization (View).
  • Docker-ready for containerized deployments
  • Secure communication with TLS, certificates, and IT/OT standards
  • REST APIs for cloud integration

AI-Native at the Edge

  • ML NET integration for predictive analytics
  • Python 3 for data science at the source
  • MCP server support for the AI client you choose and host

Deploy your Way

EdgeConnect operates completely independently: No central platform required, no cloud dependency.

  • Device Level: Embed directly on PLCs, gateways, or industrial PCs
  • Remote Sites: Collect and normalize field data for SCADA or cloud integration
  • UNS Originator: Establish the first node in your Unified Namespace architecture

EdgeConnect is where industrial data journeys begin. By enabling edge autonomy, local intelligence, and UNS-native connectivity, it provides the most reliable and scalable foundation for modern IIoT and Industry 4.0 architectures.

FrameworX as an MQTT hub: remote devices and plant automation (RTUs, flow computers, sensors, HMIs, PLCs) publish, and OT and IT systems (SCADA, alarming, historian, ERP, billing, CRM) subscribe.

One of the main reasons we decided to work with Tatsoft is they have decades of experience in developing software products and understand the need to have a flexible, reliable platform on which to build applications that will last a long time.

EdgeConnect FAQ

Yes. EdgeConnect collects data from PLCs, RTUs and controllers over its native drivers, including Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Modbus and DNP3, and serves it to SCADA, MES, historians and cloud platforms through its built-in OPC UA server. It is also an OPC UA client, so it can aggregate data from other OPC UA servers. No separate OPC server is required.

Yes. EdgeConnect includes a built-in MQTT broker (MQTT 3.1.1 and 5.0) and an MQTT client, with Sparkplug B as collector and as publisher, so it can feed a Unified Namespace directly from the edge.

EdgeConnect buffers data locally with store-and-forward and sends it when the connection returns, so remote and unmanned sites keep their history through an outage.

On Windows and Linux devices, headless or with a panel, including Docker containers and the Cisco IR1101 industrial router. It uses the same Designer and configuration model as Enterprise and MachineHMI, so a solution moves up without being rebuilt.

EdgeConnect includes unlimited tags and 120+ connectors, with the IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5 and WITSML drivers priced separately. EdgeConnect View adds 2 display clients, alarms and a historian with 35-day retention. Licenses are perpetual, and current figures are on the pricing page.
