FrameworX Community Edition
Free SCADA and HMI software you can run in production
Community Edition is free, forever. It is the same FrameworX Designer and runtime that run our licensed editions, for solutions up to 1,000 tags and 100 communication points, in production, with no time limit and community support.
What it is
The full platform, free for a small system
FrameworX unifies SCADA, HMI, historian and Unified Namespace in one platform. It is built by the team that designed InduSoft (now AVEVA Edge) in 1997, and it is the same software in every edition. Community Edition is that software, free, registered for a small system: a skid, a pump station, a lab, a pilot line, or a training bench.
You build the solution in the Designer, run it on the FrameworX runtime, and keep it running with no time limit as long as it stays within the limits below. Displays are unlimited.

How to start
Free in three steps, no sales call
- 1Download and installGet FrameworX from the download page. The runtime runs on Windows, Linux and Docker; the Designer runs on Windows.
- 2Register Community Edition, freeOpen Solution Center, go to the License page and register. There is nothing to pay. The runtime time limit is removed for solutions within the limits.
- 3Build and runConnect your devices, design your displays and put the solution to work. Questions go to the community forum.
When the system grows
Move up without rebuilding
If a solution goes beyond the Community Edition limits, it switches to Evaluation mode, where the runtime runs 4 hours per session. For a larger system, or for Tatsoft technical support and software maintenance, move to a licensed edition: MachineHMI from 150 communication points, or EdgeConnect. The solution you built carries over as it is.
