It’s not uncommon to hear, “This is like magic,” during Tatsoft training sessions when customers are upgrading from legacy solutions. Tasks such as design or troubleshooting can be completed in just one-tenth of the time with Tatsoft compared to traditional legacy systems.
- Control System Technologies
One of the main reasons we decided to work with Tatsoft is they have decades of experience in developing software products and understand the need to have a flexible, reliable platform on which to build applications that will last a long time.
- Renifer Systems
I can’t tell you how many people have come through this building. International groups are very interested. We like showing it off. The system is a big change from what we had; everybody appreciates it.
- Cargill Feed Safety Research Center
The other packages we looked at were either extremely long in the tooth, could only communicate with a single PLC, or were lacking in data collection capabilities (…) FrameworX also provides the tools for us to make complex animations that were essential for us to separate ourselves from the competition.
- Rite Irrigation LLC
Other key factors leading to our decision to use FrameworX were the wide range of options for displaying graphics, built-in .NET scripting for special requirements, communication flexibility, and competitive pricing.
- Water and Wastewater Industries
MQTT (Server) Broker and MQTT Client and Sparkplug B Included
Full MQTT Support included! Flexible configuration using MQTT optimized for your architecture. Our MQTT Broker connects with MQTT Clients following the Sparkplug B specification or pure MQTT Clients such as the Mosquitto clients. HiveMQ Broker support for larger applications.

FAQ
The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) applies IoT principles to industrial systems, connecting machines, sensors, and devices to collect and analyze operational data in real time. Unlike general IoT, which focuses on consumer or smart-home applications, IIoT emphasizes reliability, performance, and security in manufacturing, energy, and infrastructure. Tatsoft’s internet of things software provides a scalable industrial foundation built on open protocols, unified data models, and the same .NET framework powering FrameworX for enterprise-level integration.
A Unified Namespace is a single structured view of all operational data in a plant, published through a central message broker so any system can subscribe to what it needs. FrameworX supports external tag providers, which means tags stay in the source of truth and are subscribed to rather than copied into a second database.
Sparkplug B is an open specification that defines how industrial data is structured and published over MQTT. It adds topic naming conventions, payload definitions, birth and death certificates for devices, and state awareness. Sparkplug B is what makes MQTT usable as an industrial protocol rather than as a generic messaging transport.
In a factory, IIoT software connects sensors, PLCs, and controllers through industrial networks to collect data continuously. This data is then processed and visualized for operators, engineers, and management. Tatsoft’s FrameworX platform provides the core IIoT framework, handling data acquisition, storage, and distribution from the edge to the cloud. It allows users to monitor equipment health, track production KPIs, and automate control actions in real time.
IIoT systems use a wide range of devices (PLCs, RTUs, smart sensors, edge gateways, and cloud connectors) to collect and share industrial data. Tatsoft’s internet of things software integrates seamlessly with these devices via standard protocols such as MQTT, OPC UA, and Modbus, with more than 100 built-in connectors. This ensures that real-time operational data flows securely and consistently across all layers of the enterprise.
Yes, and unlimited means unlimited. (We also have pricing options for small I/O counts, such as an OEM might want.) Our flexible licensing options make us affordable for a wide variety of industrial applications.
Yes, we run on Linux as well as most flavors of Windows.
All MQTT functionality is included with all of our FrameworX products. We support the open MQTT standard and also work with leading commercial MQTT Brokers to scale your applications to 1000s or 10,000s of connections. Call to learn more +1 (855) 828-7638
FrameworX includes a full featured SQL database. It also provides seamless integration with any database including Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, Postgres, Microsoft Azure SQL and NoSQL data sources including OSISoft’s PI and Rockwell. There are no limits to connectivity!
We support C# (C Sharp), VB.NET, Python and JavaScript.
Tatsoft’s IIoT software is designed to integrate seamlessly with both new and legacy automation systems. It connects to existing PLCs, databases, and applications without requiring major infrastructure changes. FrameworX provides native connectors for industrial drivers, OPC servers, and MQTT brokers, allowing old and new systems to coexist within one modern, unified platform. This makes Tatsoft ideal for gradual digital transformation initiatives.
IIoT generates continuous data streams from machines, enabling analytics for performance optimization and predictive maintenance. Tatsoft’s IIoT platform collects, normalizes, and contextualizes this data, feeding it into dashboards, historians, or AI tools for analysis. Users can identify patterns, forecast failures, and schedule maintenance proactively, reducing downtime and extending equipment life.
Yes, we have reliable and easily configurable redundancy for seamless failover. Realtime tags, devices, alarms, historical data, scripts, clients, and all modules were designed to meet redundancy and hot-swapping requirements.
Yes, FrameworX is a fully open and extensible application platform. All user displays, real-time calculations, storage and analytics integrations are open and customizable. We have both developed analytics and partnered with many vertical solution providers to embed their custom data analysis, predictive analytics, and Artificial Intelligence applications into your solutions.
Yes. FrameworX EdgeConnect runs on Windows, Linux, embedded devices and Raspberry Pi. The same project configuration used on a server deploys to an edge device, so a gateway collecting data at a remote site and a central server share one engineering environment and one data model.
FrameworX edge deployments operate autonomously during a network outage. Data continues to be collected and buffered locally, then forwarded to SQL, to the historian or to a cloud service when the connection is restored. Local logic, alarms and displays keep running throughout, so the site stays operable while it is isolated.
