The industrial workforce of tomorrow is being trained on FrameworX today.
Tatsoft donated 28 licenses of FrameworX Unlimited Version 10 to Pennsylvania College of Technology, a nationally recognized applied technology institution in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Students pursuing bachelor’s degrees in automation engineering technology and electronics and computer engineering technology are now using FrameworX in coursework and senior projects.
Real-World Skills From Day One
Professor Jeff Rankinen, associate professor of electronics and computer engineering technology, described how students use FrameworX at the data source, handling millions of data points per second, while Ignition organizes and visualizes that data at the dashboard layer. This mirrors how large-scale industrial systems are architected in the field.
FrameworX is active across the courses Automation Concepts and Applications and Software Tools for the Engineering Technologist, giving students structured, hands-on exposure to the platform before they graduate.
Why This Matters
The industries that depend on FrameworX — manufacturing, oil and gas, utilities, pharmaceuticals, transportation, and critical infrastructure — need engineers who can hit the ground running. Academic partnerships like this one close the gap between classroom and job site.
