Devices and Interfaces

Devices in FactoryStudio are any live real-time data source. Typically a device is a PLC, another FactoryStudio, an OPC server, a PI System, or any equipment that has a communication protocol

The following sections explains how to configure the Device Module:

•Communication Protocols presents the protocols and interfaces are supported.

•Configuring Channels explain the Channel configuration, Channel is the name used by FactoryStudio to define a logical network running a selected protocol

•Configuring Nodes; nodes are the stations connected to each channel, that means the devices that are connected to each logical network.

•Configuring Data Points defines the read or write addresses on each device node that will be accessed;

•Configuring Access Types allows to customize how the data points will be accessed, such as read or write, execution cycles and triggers.
